For an integrated development of civilian area, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is going to have mixed land use zones. This is part of master plan to be implemented from 2014 to 2021. The land is to be used for recreational, commercial and residential purposes.

A survey will be conducted before marking land use in the master plan. The survey is going to find out the demands for various lands such as light industrial usages, office space, retail, commercial and housing. The cantonment area is spread over forty square kilometre. Of which about 10,000 acres land is vacant. Around 27% of the entire area is private land and the rest is either defence or government land.

The plan would focus on natural features by taking satellite imagery and economic activities that are already there in and around SCB area.

Assessment of transport connectivity including rail network, public transit, linkages to city centre, airport, etc. is part of the plan.

The plan will examine proposed and existing infrastructure in the area and social infrastructure like registration offices, revenue, post offices, banks, bus and railway reservation, health, etc.
