As the Metro Rail’s model station in Uppal is in the final stages of completion, it is all set to be opened in July for the public to get their feedback and suggestions.
There will be 66 stations along the 72 kilometeer stretch and each station will have lifts, escalators and staircases in three corridors. Parking facilities will be available near all the stations.
The three corridors are Corridor-I from Miyapur-LB Nagar (29 km, 27 stations), Corridor-II from JBS to Falaknuma (15 km, 16 stations) and Corridor-III from Nagole to Shilparamam (28 km, 23 stations).
There will be three joint stations at MGBS (Corridors I & II), Parade Grounds (Corridors II & III) and at Ameerpet (Corridors I & III).
Metro stations are designed eco-friendly, using solar power, natural ventilation and no air-conditioning.
Metro coaches are scheduled to arrive in the third week of May from South Korea. Trial runs will start on the ground-level tracks at Nagole depot from June.
