13 March 2011: A resident of the city and a former employee of a Singapore MNC is involved in a cybercrime, in which he had hacked the server of a city based BPO INVOICE Network Private Limited, situated at Kamalapuri. The company offers VOIP services for a Singapore based company, Networks PTE Ltd. The CID had conducted investigation after a complaint lodged by the company alleging hacking of their server and introduction of new PIN’s for making VOIP calls, which resulted in a loss of Rs.6 lakh for the company. The CID officials have found the victim as Shaikh Mohammed Ghouse Basha, resident of Jubilee Hills, but a native of Kadapa. He was booked for cheating under IT Amendment Act, for stealing the company’s PIN’s and selling them to an accomplice in Kuwait.
