The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) stood first among all the civic bodies in India for its best online services of the ‘Janaagraha G2C’. The GHMC was awarded for its best services to people via online.
The GHMC stood first for its online facility to citizens of Hyderabad in issuing the birth and death certificates online, online payments, trade license payments, new house numbers, building permission status, engineering work status, registered contractors, grievance/complaints etc.
The GHMC online service also has a facility of providing application forms that can be downloaded. Forms for Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Building Application Form, Self-Assessment, License for Advertisement, Thrift & Credit Application Form, Transfer of Property, Building Construction Permission, Balika Samriddhi Yojana, etc. are available on www.ghmc.gov.in
The Chennai Municipal Corporation was awarded second for its online services. The awards function was held in New Delhi on 1st November 2012. The Additional Commissioner of Hyderabad received the award from the Union Minister for Urban Development.
